Your Environment – Your Home

We’ve put the environment high in our list of requirements, so your impact on the environment is reduced from the very beginning.

PowerHouse Homes commitment to the planet

With the help of our award-winning Australian architects, we’ve designed homes that will help the environment and reduce your carbon footprint. The advantages of a PowerHouse Homes over traditional homes are:

  • Steel frame construction – the modular steel blocks, insulated with fire-resistant materials, mean your home has a double layer of strength and durability. Designed to resist a variety of elements and remain strong regardless of the treatment they get, these building blocks help minimise building waste, energy from construction and are the strongest building materials we’ve found, bar none.
  • Quality-controlled construction – your home is put-together, with your choice of floors, walls and other fittings and fixtures, in a quality-controlled factory environment. One company constructs your home, rather than sub-contractors from other companies, ensuring  quality is maintained.

Your home: saving you money every day

PowerHouse Homes are fully insulated with solid,  fire-retardant materials to ensure your energy consumption and costs are as low as possible.

But it doesn’t stop there.

PowerHouse Homes also come with water reclamation, solar hot water and double-glazing as standard features, so you get an immediate cost-saving for your home.

Using the sun

With a solar hot water system, you’ll keep your costs and your environmental footprint down.

The sun heats your water, which means you’re saving electricity, but you’re also saving Carbon Dioxide (CO2), produced when electricity is generated, from being released into the atmosphere.

With solar hot water fitted standard on all our homes, you’ll have great hot water with a fraction of the financial and environmental cost of a traditional water heater.

You insulate your walls, but why not insulate your windows?

Double glazing, used extensively in Europe, has four fundamental advantages over traditional single-glazed windows.

  • Double glazing insulates your home by way of a trapped layer of air between two sealed panes of glass – it keeps your home warm in winter and cool in summer.
  • Saves on energy costs – The insulation of double-glazing means you don’t have to run cooling and heating for as long, or as high.
  • Noise-reduction – Noise is reduced so you can relax at home without hearing your neighbours.
  • Saves up to 720kg of Carbon Dioxide per year – Stop pouring your heat and cool air out of your windows while saving money and the environment.
